We're nothing short of thrilled to see the second series of Gavin & Stacey, written by and starring James Corden and Ruth Jones, come to BBC One.
So, as Stace would say, what's occurin'?
Actually, not much has changed.
Gavin (Mat Horne) and Stacey (Joanna Page) are still in love, Smithy's (James Corden) still jealous of their relationship, Bryn's (Rob Brydon) still loopy, and Nessa's (Ruth Jones) still pregnant with Smithy's child.
Silly but heartwarming, watching Gavin & Stacey is like watching a Corden and Horne sketch that never ends - with a few truly poignant moments thrown in for good measure.
The slightly risqué sense of humour - including the family's surnames (West and Shipman), Uncle Bryn's dubious relationship with Stacey's brother and Nessa's S&M fetish - only makes it better.
But by far the best thing about this series are the characters of Smithy and Nessa who are both strange and delightful. You can't watch Gavin & Stacey without wondering if James and Ruth saved all the best stuff for themselves.
